Why I Created RoboWholesaler, the One-Stop Shop for Fund Fact Sheets

I’ve been working in the financial services industry for over 25 years. During my career, I’ve spent time with a lot of different financial advisors and investment companies. I’ve served on the broker-dealer side with A.G. Edwards and Edward Jones, and on the asset management side with Russell Investments, BNY Mellon/Dreyfus, and Invesco. My career has always been busy and involved a lot of travel. Throughout my career, I’ve learned to embrace technology to work efficiently.

While advisors today are taking advantage of new technologies for client service, practice management, and investment management, they are still wasting hours of time each month searching for fund information.

A Nagging Problem

In my work with advisors, I would notice an ongoing frustration: It’s impossible to quickly find information on popular mutual funds, even though the information is publicly available. Advisors have to search for individual fact sheets, often wading through distracting websites and marketing materials in the process.

Because fund fact sheets are updated regularly, it can be challenging to locate the most up-to-date version in a hurry. Until now, there was no one-stop repository searchable by keyword to help advisors locate the information they need.

Building the Platform

I had been aware of the problem for years, but the solution didn’t come to me until 2012. One day, I was browsing a popular real estate website that aggregates all MLS listings into one simple site that you can search by price, location, and home size.

I was looking at these different properties and all this data, and it hit me: Why isn’t there a way to aggregate all the mutual fund data in one place? So I hired a team of computer programmers to develop the algorithm and build RoboWholesaler.

A Free Resource for Investment Professionals

I created RoboWholesaler to save time and make life easier for the brokers and advisors I work with. I know that they’re incredibly busy working with their clients, dealing with their compliance departments, and trying to grow their businesses. It was my goal to offer a simple solution to help them save time.

The platform is free for all investment professionals and we do not allow annoying pop-ups or distracting banner ads. RoboWholesaler is an easy-to-use resource for advisors, their staff, and other investment services professionals.
